Have you ever wonder why one have to spend almost half day waiting at A & E to seek consultant? Firstly, you would have to register at the reception before you are given the queue number to see the doc. Then after which, you have to go round to other departments for blood tests, x ray and ECG etc etc to be conducted before the doc could make a diagnosis of your condition. All these involved a substantial amount of time before the results are out. At each stations, waiting time are required depending on how busy the department is. Let's say for x ray department, the procedures may be completed in a short period of time but the processing took more than 10 minutes. The printing of films and the ready films were collected by the respective nurses. Sometimes, the films may sit around in the department for about 15 to 20 mins waiting to be collected. Then there were cases of missing patients. Forms were submitted but cannot find the patient. This means more time wasted. The doc then need time to browse through the results before sending the patients off. Hmm ...anyway to improve the process ....

Oh no!!!! Not Quality Management again. =P
