Isn't it scary to know that u might not wake up the next day after retired for the night before?
Well, over the yesrs, we would read from the newspaper that so and so die in his or her sleep. It seems pretty common for one to die in his sleep. If i remembered correctly, one or two of my friends also die in their sleep. However, it could be a painless death. At the same time, it is too early to leave this world too. It is such a pity when this happen. Have u ever wondered what are the causes. Our lifestyles? Our diet? or What?
Our picker scanner "die" today and was only revived around 3pm this afternoon. Luckily, we dun have much listed cases for the day and there was no special procedures. We managed to completed all the cases pretty early. Of course, there was a complaint today as well. i know that he was frustrated over the earlier events up at the ward, so when he came down, he still had to wait and with no breakfast at all, all the more angry he became. He just refused to listen to anyone who tries to explain to him that we are down with one machine. To him, even though we were down with one machine, it was still be possible to arrange for better schedules and not just simply make the patient wait outside for his turn. If the appointment is 1pm, then the scan should be conducted at the appointment time, so that the patient dun have to wait at all. Really wished that we could have attained the desired standard. However, we could not guarantee that as we dunno when we are expecting urgent cases from ICU or AE. We could not even predict what is going to happen to each of our patients. Some patients took more time for the procedures some took less. It's all pretty patient dependent. Frustrations after frustrations.

finally got to know how to create the curved mpr. i have read about this in reference book but had yet to see how it was being created. In order to do that, one must have a pair of steady hands to draw straight lines. i afraid i dun have such good techniques, hence spent quite sometime getting the four images out. My partner seems to be better than me at this but somehow something went wrong and cannot save the images. But i had some fun playing with the new taught function. Now i know and next time i can try to create one curved mpr for pancrease scans. hee hee. Now that i have finished reading my CT reference book... i am going to look for another book to read so that better understanding could be attained. It does help a bit if we know the technique behind it.

This is going to be the end of my one week annual leave. Did nothing much though. But i am still happy that i have some time to rest for a while.
Now i have to plan what's next for me coz i need to start saving up for either a degree course or am i going for the master in two years time. Currently, i really dunno what i should do and what is the purpose of taking the master degree too.
Just concentrate to master my CT first. Then decide on what should i do in future since i never plan for the future.. i dun want to stress myself to give myself reasons to grow more white hairs.

Called this shopping therapy. Hee Hee
i was pretty happy with my two purchases today. Firstly, the josh groban's new album "Awake". This was the much awaited album from the last one. The second purchase was my golden colour crocs shoes. At first, they were asking me to buy the pink colour shoes. But i prefer the gold one coz less striking. ha ha ,,, me is not an attention seeker. So anything too bright i will think twice before wearing them. Sometimes when i am in a cranky mood, i do put on bright stuff though.

Finally, i had my room and pc back... hee hee ....
My younger brother's application to exhibit his design in milan has finally put through. However, this time he is planning to go on his own. So he has to settle the rental of the booth all bu himself. That's pretty expensive and i wondered if he has sufficient cash for the expenses. The production of the chair is still unknown as we are still pending for the manufracturer to get back if it is possible to produce the design before we could estimate the cost for the trip. Besides, there's no point to go if the chair cannot be produced. Furthermore, the deposit has to be submitted by the end of decemeber and the full payment to be given at the end of january 2007. No time to waste.
i actually planning to go with him this time round since he needs assistance to tend the booth. Go for free and easy tour in Italy... not bad right... Trying to get my mum to go along too. Will it increase the expenses ha ha ... depends on how we see the matter. If four of us go together, we could help to distribute the transport load. He go alone may incurred more cost as well. See how it goes... i dun want him to miss this opportunity because of money issue. This is his second exhibition over there.... he might not be able to get the same opportunity next time round. Although my mum is against the idea of going for the exhibition, due to the cost issue... i still hope to support him through...coz in the design industry, every opportunity counts. Unless the chair cannot be produced, if not i dun wish to see him forgo this chance. so looks like i have to start doing on call assignments and not to give that to my fellow colleagues. Time to save a bit both for my driving lessons as well as my milan trip. hee hee must go and change my leave .

First day of my annual leave was spent bumming around doing nothing. Met bin for lunch and look at her India trip photo. Nice..then we decided to go down and take a look at the much talk-about Vivo city at harbour front.
I dun really find the place impressive. The first area which needs immediate improvement is the cleaniless of the toilets. Oh my god.. i know the place was crowded with people but that does not compromise the cleanliness of the toilets. that's very important. Maybe it's just the basement one that was not well "look after". The entire place was indeed huge and spacious and there were still a number of stores which were still undergoing renovation. Could see that there are many new fashion brands... but still looking out to see how well they integrate here in singapore. We also noticed that there were so many cafes in the shopping complex. We spotted starbucks, coffeebean. pacific cafe and a few others.... the food variety was not exactly fantastic at the moment. hee hee That's very important .... and they have papa beard cream puff there ... yum yum my favourite =)

Lunch was good this afternoon. We had lunch at Raffles Place. Since all of us had not met for quite sometime,,, i think since february. MR SY still looks the same... but Our XC has put on some weight. But looks more like a "hardcore" businessman liao. Glad to know that everyone is doing fine... and we are wondering how KB is doing over there. Really miss u ... hee hee especially when we have gathering for the four of us. =)
After that, i went to orchard road... just had a feeling that i want to go without any intention,,, wonder why... when i went past takashimaya, i realised it's the subaru challenge again. Times really flies. Wonder did andrew participate this time round?
i was pretty disappointed with the appearance of the handphone i was eyeing. It does not appeal as much as when i look at it over the internet. But another phone caught my eye just that i dun like the sliding mechanism... so perharps i will still stick to the original phone afterall.

We had a major pacs downtime yesterday. It was only revived at around 4plus in the afternoon. The current images as well as the previous images could not be accessed in centricity at all. We started printing films again for the general side while the CT side printed films in the afternoon for the inpatient. It's a real hell as they need immediate reports for the urgent reports and everything had to be done verbally in the case of emergency. i guess the downtime also affects some of the procedures since we have stopped printing films long time ago. This is a major disaster for all. The backlog after the downtime was terrible. We had to send the images to pacs again and verified them asap so that the radiologists could report them asap. Everyone has their share of stress.
Filmless has indeed make our work easier , well at least we dun have to walk so many times to and fro to pass images and collect films. But to start the entire workflow again yesterday, everyone was deadbeat tired at the end of the day. The worst was the team who stayed back to pac the images for both general and emd. i wanted to stay back and help out.. but somehow,,,,, sigh ...... The stack of forms oh my ,, i cannot imagine. At least for our side, we cleared that pretty fast, with two of us pacing images while the other two continue scanning the patients. Of course, the two scanning patients colleagues would be more tired.
i have to deal with two potential complaint cases. Sigh,,,still required some skill to deal with them properly. Luckily, managed to solve that. i still think that we need to revise our workflow especially when we are dealing with outpatient, inpatient and emd together. Although we have some kind of system to prioritise the patients, we could not please everyone. That's the tricky part of customer service. Communications between our counterparts also played a very important part...coz miscommunications often lead to misunderstanding and create unhappiness among the patients.
The entire day, i did not really do much scanning coz everytime i want to start a case, someone asked me to attend to this and that. To the extent that, my partner also commented that i always disappear somewhere else. Felt so bad about desserting her. Sorry.... And realised that i need to get my contrast for printing films correct especially when boss has already pointed out my mistakes....
