Just as i was feeling happy that we had finally completed all the cases for the day, i read a sms message from my mum," your dad has fallen down from the rooftop." My heart just sank deep into "god knows where". My mind was processing on the possible height he would have fallen from. To keep me from guessing, i just called my mum immediately as by the time i read the sms, it was already one hour later. Yes , i know but i dun carry my handphone when i was at work. My mum informed me that he was on his way home, only hurt his wrist and had fallen from about one storey height. However, my parents were famous of their high pain tolerance level. It was often so good that serious injury could appear like no injury at all. But he could still drive, that sounds a bit more convincing. As usual, my mum appears pretty calm and asked me to carry on with my dinner appointment while she waited for my dad to come home so that she could examine the wounds before asking me come back home. So i waited and waited, decided to call back. No one picked up the phone.....

The next natural thing to do was to inform my elder brother about the incident hoping that he would be home to take care of the situation. Apparently, my mum never informed him about it. As a result, i got a earful for informing my elder brother about it. So sad right..... After assurance that everything was under control, i continued with my dinner and went back straight to check my dad's injury. He landed on his butt and surprisingly there was no visible gross injury except for blue black on his calcaneum areas for both feet and right hand's scaphoid area. As expected, he refused to go to hospital or clinic to check out if there's any other hidden injuries. He insisted that he was alright. However, his feet appears slightly swollen. He still claimed that there was nothing to worry about. Keeping my fingers crossed about. Hopefully , he was really alright after the fall.

i was just chatting with a friend over the msn last night on what's the meaning of life? What should we do with our lives?

i am forever lost when i come face on with this topic. Over the past thirty years, i have never really found the answer to this question. All this while, i was just living and attaining goals which i set for myself such as which secondary school i wanted to be in, which college i was striving for then and getting a degree, followed by getting a job. If you ever looked back, life could be just pursuing of goals and achievements till death.

So i had fulfilled my wish to be an ijian, got my degree although it was not a medical degree but somehow related in one way or another. i did have a stable job after which something happened along the way and i was doing something else. i was in love before. So what else i wish to have in life?

My regret is always on music..... hmmm

i was kinda of prepared that my 6pm to 9pm shift was going to be bad. Considered what happened yesterday. My partner would also repeat the same thing to me today. Just that there was not OT cases today, only portables. There were just too many portables. At first, there was no porters around to push the patients out for x rays, then there was no one to pick up the phones calls, then there was cases in resus. Luckily, there was none from Fever. If not i would be even more tired than i am now. There was not even time to take a peek out at the front counter if there was any forms left in the tray without clocking. When they dun clocked, i dun hear the sound, i would assume that there was no forms awaiting outside and concentrate on clearing the cases inside. Sometimes it was not my fault that caused a delay, the work flow itself was not efficient. With my two uncles came and helped me fetched and pushed patients to and back to resus. This kinda makes things easier. At least, i dun have one patient occupying the room not because of not complete x ray but just waiting for someone to push them back. Frustrating!!!!!

Actually, there was not many complicated cases compared to yesterday. Just the crowd chose to come at the same time, in addition to that, the registration system experienced outage... for some of the patients, had to input the details manually. Sigh this wasted a fair amount of time.....Finally when i saw my colleague from the next shift came, i heaved a sigh of relief. time to go home and merged all unspecified images before leaving the place. Damn tired now but cannot sleep coz hair still wet.

My first night duty after a drought of almost 3 months of shift duty. Although it was a sunday night, it was pretty quiet with a simple cases and managed to sleep for about 2 hours. This was also the first night duty which i slept. Normally i dun sleep but i spent my entire afternoon watching japanese drama online, i did not have my usual afternoon nap before night duty. Hee hee. i looked especially tired by the dawn arrived. ha ha ...

i met one patient who mentioned to me that i did his sinus ct scan a few months ago. yes, surprised that such a short procedure, he remembered me. Normally, not many people remembered radiographers. Hmm now i kinda of wondered is it a good or bad impression?

i was out early for driving lesson. Still have some minor problem with lane changing. Then went to attend Ed & CF's daughter birthday party. This was the first time i saw Tiffany in person since she was born as i kept missing our past gatherings due to work and driving lessons. As usual, my group stayed till the end and helped out in the packing up. She was so adorable, her hair could stand... against the gravity pull, ha ha ,,,,, so cute especially when she pretend to pass you something but suddenly snatches it back. That smug look on her face made her so lovable to play with. Too bad, we forgot to take any photos for the entire day.

Catch "Fantastic Four" yesterday with the gals. It was as good as the first sequel. From the beginning to the end, the plot just hold your attention till the end of the movie. Nothing really distract my mind from wondering off to another dreamland while watching the show. i guess there's just too much action in the movie. Although they are still pondering over their fame and stuff, finally the wedding was held in Japan,,,, once u have the responsibilities, u just cannot run away and ignore the nature calling within you. THat's what becoming a Superhero is all about. Same goes to the reality.

Had some unhappiness in workplace recently over various areas. The most frustrating thing is none of the stuff is within my control. That's the most ignoring portion of life. We could not gain control in everything and just have to face them and adjust our lives so that we could feel better than not doing anything. Hopefully, the big issue could be settled as soon as possible since it concern about our well being in the department especially gals. Having a time bomb walking around us is definitely no fun at all. How can such species ever exist in this world? Absolutely disgusted!!!! At first, i thought the issue was not going to be that bad as imagine it would be. However, as times past, this issue actually surfaced earlier than i thought it would be a problem. A bit too fast i supposed. But it's better to happen now at least we could salvage the situation now rather than a more serious or complicated issue popped up in the later part of the year. That will be even more difficult to handle. Really keeping my fingers crossed that we really get rid of the pest soon. Just felt damn unsafe to work with the time bomb around.

My oracle cards was finally delivered to me today. Yippee .... need to bond with them first before i played with them. i was trying to explore ways of implement this into my belief. That sounds a bit absurd since this might be something wrong to have such thoughts. Guess if it is for fun , should be alright i guess......

There seems to be many problems which my friends have been facing lately and all these just came at one go over the weekend. Hopefully, everyone could tide through the difficulties and see silver lining in the end. i guess the only i could do is to pray for them and hope everything went smoothly for them.

It's time to reorganize my goals in life again. It has been quite a while since i last did that. As usual, i am still lost in searching my ultimate goal of my life. What do i really want in life? Material needs or emotional needs. I am still searching for the answers despite of the countless attempts to find it. Where do i get fulfillments of life from? What motivated me to go on with my life and my job? Should i just go on and on to pursue something which i may not have confidence that i would succeed in or should i just get a job and try to make the best out of it? Why am i still asking myself such questions at this point of time in my life?

i was on the train today when i heard that a foreigner commented that no one actually offered their seats to his wife and son considering the fact that they are in singapore. That reminds me that when i was in Italy and paris, the people there were always ready to offer their seats to those in need. They dun have to spend time to ponder if they should do that or not. The act of kindness has become their second nature. However, u seldom find such people in singapore. This is kinda sad that we are supposed to be gracious lot. Typical singaporeans !!!

i was reading the recruitment session of today's Strait Times and found my previous company's advertisement for new recruitment. In my days, i think i will not even notice if they put up one for job recruitment. That really shows how times have changed since the handover of authority to the new in charge. Oh,,, i was just browsing through looking for future exploration if i ever decide to quit radiography. =)

It's been a pretty long time since i read my friends' blog entries. It has not been too long just a few days. However, i think i had missed out some important matters which my friend might required assistance in. kinda of late when i read about it. Guess for myself, i really have to make an effort to keep in contact with friends rather than waiting for them to contact me. Well, that's me....

The episodes of events happened after i lost my pen were really terrible. The flow of my fluoro cases today was considered jeopardized by the fact that i lost my pen. This may sound ridiculous but that's the truth. Almost all the patients were late and there were just so many hiccups everywhere. Firstly there was a contrast allergy case which was requested despite of the fact of reasonable allergic reaction the other time round. These people were just busy with the arrangement of other viable scans beside fluoro... they did not even bother to come up and explain to the patient on what's the decision. They just left after the first round of explanation and just put a full stop to the episode. Of course, in the end we got the blame and had to deal with the unhappy patient due to the poor communication and arrangement of the scans. What he commented, i also kinda agreed ..that is ,"Is this what you called first class service? Is this what i got for flying all the way here to seek treatment?" i just tried my best to assist. However, if my doc also dun have customer service ... then that's just this much effort i could push. Sorry ....

Then there were so many calls which i was made to contact patient for call back which turned out to be not essential. Wasted my saliva and time and the competent level of the staff in NUH really dropped. Luckily, managed to stop her from making the trip if not will be another potential complaint.

i was really surprised that the patient's relative recognised me from the CT procedure about 3 weeks ago. Although this was not the first time., sometimes i wondered if the impression was considered good or bad. Sigh,,, just too late to think of any other things else.

Yesterday was public holiday, Vesak Day.

Went singing session with LZ. We sang a wide selection of songs and some songs are those we would not sing normally. After that , went back to her place to play tarots cards. It has been a while since i come in contact with oracle cards. We decided not to use the tarot cards but rather stick to the oracle cards. i prefer oracle cards to tarot cards though. Oracles cards are much easier to read as compared to tarot cards. The feeling is somehow different too. Anyway, i liked the feeling and finally made the decision to get myself one set of cards as well. =P

Today's scans were not as bad as i thought i will be since today is the post holiday. Everything went pretty smooth except for my PE thorax scan with the iv plug set on the leg. That's makes the timing even more crucial. Luckily, it turned out not too bad. However, given the conditions, the scan should be of better quality. Ha ha trying to be perfect again.
