In about three days time, it will be my one year annivesary working as a radiographer. It seems only yesterday that i was sitting in NYP listening to lectures, rushing project deadline and mugging for examination. And for the first month, i was busy coping with the workload as well as the job nature.

Being a radiographer is a more physical demanding job for me ,,,, being small frame does put me to an disadvantage. i must admit that when i first started out in corridor b, i felt damn stressed over the projections as well as the portables. Slowly, i integrated my own method of getting around my nerves and subsequently i managed to cope with the workload and i began to enjoy my job.

However, another major hurdle came along when i started working in A& E. The environment requires one to be on his or her toes most of the time. In times of emergency, one has no time to waste recalling how to do this and that ,,, u just have to get the projections done and in the shortest possible time. In addition, it does not make anything better when u are always left alone handling the workload downstairs running the resus, obs bay, walk in patients as well as the fever facility. i do hate the times when i could not go for toilet break just work and work from the start till the end of your shift. Sad to say, by the end of the shift, i was often dehydrated and famished as there's no chance for me to get a bite. Again, i survived through the ordeal but had to deal with my hairloss due to stress (i guess). My hair condition has improved and is almost recovered. Hopefully, with my rejoining the shift work routine and ct on call, the condition will not deteriote any further. Praying hard for it.

My next breakthrough for the year is being selected to join the CT team. i have always loved doing CT. i do have my struggles when i was deciding to join or not to join due to certain issues. It's a correct move. CT is something i enjoy doing.

Apart from shedding 3 kgs since i started work, my body condition has not been in very good shape either. My back hurts everytime i wore the lead apron for too long in theatre. My right knee is also giving me problem especially when i pushed the ii around. The transfering of patient and all, required physical strength and that's what i am always lacking and this has become my greatest enemy in my job. And if anything which could stop me to continue my career as a radiographer, this factor is a very crucial one.

On top of that, of course, i really really hope that i could keep my mindset as pure as ever and not to be influenced by the unhealthy mindset of healthcare industry. That really bothers me...so enclosed and self centered group of people. We are trying to change the culture but how to when all these has been going on for years. So unhealthy... ha ha .... so much for now .....

Sometimes i really could not help it but woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Everything seems damn irritating at sight. I hate that kind of feeling but there's nothing much i could do.

Yesterday, we had a gathering over at sharon's place , my ex boss. Had delicious crabs..... and red wine. Hee Hee think it has been a long time since i touched alcohol. After two glasses, my rashes started to develop. Luckily, it was not very serious. They sort of faded off after about two hours.

you know... i wanted to change my handphone.. but i could not convince myself from purchasing the phone. My old phone is still in working condition except for a few hiccups... it seems that i am no longer like i used to,, everything i want just buy if i have the cash. At my age now, i do weigh the pros and cons before spending the money. Guess that's why i am not happy. Besides, need the money for the italy trip in april and my driving lessons... hopefully i could make it this time round. Then there's the question of pursuing my master or degree in radiography. still could not make up my mind. i dun have another one year to waste. So many things to consider. so sad right.... i just want a simple life.... but am i making my life simple or more complicated with so many things in mind.....

i had my first experience of working 17 hours for the day. First, i started off with 8am - 2pm morning shift then went back again at 9pm for the night shift. Boy,,, that's was tiring taking into account that this was my first night after so many months in CT. i slept almost the entire day after that.

i am getting very bad in my techniques for OT so much so that i am having some doubts over my capability in OT imaging. it seems that i have problem with the ii machine as i had lost the touch of operating the ii machine. Every machine is too heavy for me. Damn pissed off with it. Frustrating for the surgeons and myself too. Sometimes, it's not that i want to make mistakes but i just could not switch my mindset back to OT setting. Everytime after OT, my back hurts like nobody business.... the lead apron is too heavy for me... straining my back..... sometimes i could not even lay down on my back. ERghhh ..... At least, for general, i slowly getting the techniques back although the modified views and speed area needs some extra effort.

i was so damn tired.
