What is the choice of being practical and being passionate about the job i am doing?

A few years back, i dun really bother about the pay i was getting, what i care most was the job satisfaction from the job. Today, it's another story all together. Maybe it could be due to age, how much i earned is very important due to the fact that i need to save up for rainy days , for my retirement as well as many other stuff. Where is my passion for my job? Am i progressing on the correct track or have i deviated from the original track?

Yes, i am upset with the changes which will result in a reduction of my monthly income. i dun really earn much extra though. i do give my very best when i am scheduled for duties. But now i do have a choice to perform extra duties on my off day. Last time, i worked on off days for the sake of money. But with the current changes, there's no more motivation. Why dun i spend my off day doing things i like rather than working my heart out in exchange more hours off later. Off days rest are good enough for me ,,,, i dun need extra unless i have something to settle. This is horrible. To a certain extent, i do respect the policy. However, why should we be different from other hospitals? This is so unfair right.
