Watched "Pirates of the Carribean - The World's End" last night. It was a pretty long show but rather entertaining. i dun really remember the story for the previous two sequels though. Good show to catch for the weekend.

i think i was rather hyper today due to the lack of sleep. 3 hours of sleep makes me feel as if i had drank coffee and become extremely hyper and started to talk rubbish or rather tactlessly. Hopefully, i dun provoked anyone whom i worked with today.

Finally, the compose section of the blogger looks normal.

Well, the much anticipated Basic Cardiac Life Support Course was cancelled and the reason given was that priority are given to the nurses. Hmmm... as if we are not as busy as them. However, they handled patients most of the time and further more they are the ones in constant contact with the patients. So i guess it would be fair for them to be trained first.

i realised that i could not explain the technical principle of the CT scans well as a student was attached to CT today. i could only show her and explain how each protocol was done and the reasons behind each step. But when it comes to the mechanism, i had problems putting them in words. It's either i dun really understand myself or i dun know how to explain. Although i read up so many times, such details dun register in my database. The information just slipped out of my mind and out of sight till someone comes along and ask something about the lost information.

Sometimes, i am not sure if people makes things complicated for themselves. Some things or events are meant to be forgotten and buried deep in the heart. Dun ever dig that out and starts to create chaos in the already complicated working environment. Sigh.... luckily i am not involved. just want to stay out of office politics. =)

It's Mother's Day... Happie Mothers' Day to all the mothers out there.

WE folks just opted to go for simple dinner at TBP nearby. The new shanghainese restaurant served pretty decent variety of food. Tried the xiao long bao, la mian and the glutinous wine dessert. i simply loved the dessert. yum yum =)

i dunno is it just me or it happen to all the blogger users. My format bar seems to be unfunctionally. i could not justify my article at all . Damn pissed when i published my stuff and found that the misalignment with my previous entries.

So what did i do today besides having dinner with my mum? i was busy drawing mind maps of the coming BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support Course). We were given the notes before hand so i thought might as well read it first. Hopefully i could pass the practical test as well as the theory test on the same day. With my level of stamina, i really dun have much confidence in getting through the practical portion of the course. Last time in school, i recalled having with the compression as well as the breathing technique. Just dun have sufficient strength. keeping my fingers crossed though. ha ha .... Suddenly realised that at my age, drawing mind maps actually aids in registering the details into my brain storage space. Better than just read through the notes and tried to commit everything to memory.

This then direct me to another issue which i have been considering. Should i go for the degree course or not? In terms of energy level, i have doubts if i could juggle work and study again. The commitment is different from taking japanese lessons. With the amount of CT on call workload is definitely going to be heavier than before. Besides, my body is already giving me signals that rest is required. My health condition is currently not in tip top condition. Maybe i should just wait for another year then see if i still want to continue working as a radiographer or not. As much as i loved this job, my health is not going along good track though. i just have to monitor again and check it out if i could go on and complete my degree in radiography or prepare myself for another career change. Money factor is another area to consider. Probably could not afford another pay cut at my age since i am no longer considered young. Need to save for my old age and rainy days. just wait and see lah...

Spent the night surfing internet trying to see if there's any music notation software program i could download for free. Doesn't seem to have one free program for use. i did not want to purchase one software coz not frequently utilized for the moment. Guess i would just have to record all my stuff in my mp3 player first then try to convert them into scores later. It's pretty difficult for me to write the score out without sitting in front of my piano. Attempts had been made trying to compose with the free demo.. but my poor associations with notes have slowed down the process as i need to play on my piano first. It has been a long time since i ever did some music theory.

Talking about my driving lessons. i am currently trying to get back my motivation to continue the pursue of my driving license after failed twice already. Need desperately to get myself back to feet to face the challenge again. Will try my best. =)

The weather here is very warm these few days. Just sitting in front of my pc and with a fan blowing right at my face, my prespiration drips like running tap. Hate this sort of weather.

It's my first day back in CT after the long holiday. As usual, i usually take a bit of time to accustom to the workflow again and would be especially slow. Just my luck.... screwed a few scans and most of them are arterial liver scans. I dunno why my arterial scans just turned out to be something like PV scans. It seems like i captured the wrong phrase. There was one case which i waited and waited but the contrast just did not enhance brightly and the trigger just remain at around 158... did not go up to 200. Sigh,,,,, so sad lor.... did an optimum scan. So angry... then there was another case.. it hit the tigger.. when the arterial scan begun, there was no contrast. Damn it.. the cardiac output was irregular. I already observed that when i started the monitoring. The trigger graph just fluctuated like stock market. In the end ,,, the arterial and pv scan also turned out rather funny. Nothing i could do,,, it's my luck.

As i travel to work in MRT today, it's a different feeling when i travel via metro in paris or italy. Somehow, the sense of security is stronger when i am back home. Before i went to italy, there were many stories of how pickpockets operate over there. This makes travelling on the road especially stressful because my mum would give constant reminders for us to keep an lookout on our belongings. Fair enough, we really did witness one incident that one of the passenger nearly lost her purse while trying to get up the crowded metro train. i must say we are pretty lucky that we did not meet anything as such when we were there. Anyway, that's how i felt during my first week there. After that, it was like back to norm except at times when the "performer" will hop up the train ride and give a short performance either with instrument or just sing something. Everyone will try to look elsewhere and ignore them. Sometimes i felt sorry for them, however i do believe that in most cases, they could get a job and work their butts off. i just could not agree to them earning their keepings in such a way when they could.

i have met a very good street performers team in Florence. The lead singer has very good singing techniques when she showcased the classic Carmen Opera portion. Absolutely impressed while her partner played the violin. Over there in Europe, Street performers are mostly talented lot. How i wish we have such performers over here as well. If only i had my camera with me, i would take a snapshot of them. =P

still in holiday mood. After two weeks of living a rather slow pace country, there is a need to adjust my pace to meet the ever demanding needs of singapore context. There's a report saying we singaporean's speed of walking has been ranked above hong kong and japan. What does it means? i wish to slow down, take a step back to enjoy life a little more rather than all work with no play. At the rate we are going, there might an increase in death rate of heart attacks. Since there are more reports on people dying in their sleeps and having sleeping disorders. These are signs that singaporeans are working too hard. Dun u all agree with me?

Arrived in Singapore yesterday afternoon. It's really felt good when u knew that u were coming home. Everyone just could not hide the anxiety while waiting for the plane to touch the runway. well, it has been a nice experience travelling with Qatar Airway. The service was good although i found the return trip was not very enjoyable with so many situations. The air turbulence was strong at a point of time where you could actually feel the plane taking a plunge down to the a lower height. It kinda feel like taking a roller coaster ride. The photos were not ready yet for uploading. A matter of fact, we did not take many photos. And i am going to invest in one digital camera rather to borrow it from my brother so that i can snap whatever i like since i like to take photos but dun like to appear in the pictures. It sort of run in the family.....

Everyone is asking me if did i enjoy myself? i dun know the answer. To some extent, i get to see what i have planned to see or visit. However, the trip was a rather tiring and stressful one compared to my previous trip. Firstly, i had to cope with my overly fussy mum who claimed before the trip that she could rough it out together with us since i had mentioned that it's going to be a budget trip. No, she could not get used to the fact that we were living in a hostel, the small and cramped room with a dimly lit corridor. The old building just put her off. She complained about the beds and no hair dryer. She wanted at least 3 star hotels with air conditioned, water heater and blah blah. i dun care.... it's stressful comforting her and making her understand that europe tour is meant to be like this. The currency is so strong, with our currency, there's a need to save on whatever we could to survive almost 3 weeks of stay in italy and paris. The weather itself was not helping at all. It felt like summer although summer should have come after we left. the blazing sun is her worst enemy.... we could not really take the metro all the time coz we could visit more places and admired the culture better rather than passing through the tunnels everyday.

well, i just overestimated my mum actually. i did not realise how much she have aged over the four years since the last trip. Her stamina is no longer like before. She has problems keeping up with us. But i must say, she did pretty well just that she feels tired easily. It's a tough trip for her. Next time, i will have to go by package tour if not will have to go really slow for longer period so that she will not feel so tedious. It is meant to be a holiday for her to relax but in the end it seems that it has become a torturing camp to her. There's nothing more but to say i am sorry to subject her to all the sufferings. My brother and i should have consider that before the trip. We tried to slow down our pace for her just that she dun appreciate our effort sometimes. Anyway, glad to be back safe and sound.

Starting work tomorrow.... Hopefully still can remember how to operate the ii machine. =P
