There were many RTAs cases this morning. Sigh!!!!
i wondered about my first thought when i saw the ambulance, fire engine and the police car as i crossed the over head bridge this morning. It's just not right to have that thought in this situation. In my heart, it cried,"Oh NO... trauma cases.....dunno how many cases since it involved a public bus." This was definitely not right as the first thought that came to my mind was my work. i was not very sure if i am trying to prepare emotional and mentally for the coming situations at work where i have to perform procedures for my first truama case. i have not seen how they work for one before. Luckily, someone was willing to stay behind to help me as well as show me the ropes to handle such cases. The sight of blood was never a issue but stepping onto the blood stained floor was an experience. That has prompted me to wash my shoes when i got back home in the afternoon. And i took ZX advice that it was alright to take longer time to position the patient and the cassettes rather than to do any repeats later in this type of cases. Hope i could handle this better next time rather than standing there and mind went blank for a while.
This week is going to be a tough week for everyone especially with so many people on annual leave. We could not fault those who is on medical leave coz they also dun want to be sick. However, i think at least there is still control over how many people could go on annual leave per week. This is going to be very taxing on everyone as those who need the rest are called back to work and many are expected to do overtime as well. i wish to help out today by staying on for half a day but felt too tired. i just need a break. #WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS NOT MACHINES#
