Someone tells me that one traits of CT radiographers is that we have sense of urgency. Most of us do have that trait in us. WE usually move faster and work at a faster pace. We dun usually take our own sweet time to do things unless we are really not busy. However, not everyone have that sense of urgency.
CT scan is one of the first examination besides taking plain x ray for trauma cases. We have to take the shortest possible time to complete the various scans and sent the patient out of the ct scanner and back to AE. Scans has to be processed immediately and send for reporting. The only time we wasted is the patient transfer and positioning due to patient conditions. Normally one case will take about half an hour or less ..some could be even more depending on how co operative is the patient. Minus off that, scans should be completed in about 20 minutes the most. Of course, that depends on the operators as well.
that's the reason why i kept stressing that we need to work fast for trauma cases coz a second difference makes a big difference to patient's QOL later. That second or minute could have determine a lot of things for the patients and the physicians. We worked as a team to save the patient's life. We are not playing a game here. i dun find this a laughing matter. That's why i am very serious when i mean fast.... if u cannot keep up.. i will just continue to bark at u till u are able to do that. If you really had no interest then get out of there.....
i really cannot train.. coz i dun have the patience and tolerance. How many times i have to remind myself that different people have different learning curves and speed, i cannot expect everyone to be on par with me. Something which may be simple to me may not be simple to the rest. Thank goodness, i am not a trainer.
